Red Cross Babysitters Course

Saturday, November 26, 2016, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Ages 11 to 15. Provide proof of birth date. Cost is $60.00. Pre-register at the Library. Basic first aid and care-giving skills for youth ages 11 to 15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents.

Canadian Federation of University Women’s Donation to Your Library

Canadian Federation of University Women Logo The Port Colborne Public Library would like to thank the Canadian Federation of University Women, Welland and District, for donating $1000 to the Port Colborne, Welland and Pelham Public Libraries toward providing a Canadian children’s author reading at each library during March Break.

On Monday, March 14, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., the Port Colborne Public Library welcomed award-winning Canadian children’s illustrator and author Barbara Reid for a reading and presentation. Barbara Reid’s unique plasticine illustrations are recognized around the world, and her picture books have won dozens of awards. Barbara lives in Toronto, but is at home in classrooms and libraries across Canada.
